Animal Advocacy

Today, I use my voice and platform to advocate for the shelter animals who can’t speak for themselves.

Giving Love to the Ones Still Waiting

Where it all started

On July 7, 2018, I was volunteering with kids in Watts, Los Angeles when they told me about a “wolf” roaming the streets. It was a husky. Starved, filthy, barely moving. I bathed him on site and found him covered in ticks. I drove him straight to the vet for a full exam and removal. After lining up a couple overnight fosters, we found a forever home with a family that now spoils him.

In early 2024, I started volunteering at a local animal rescue, inspired by a blue pitty named Macy. She was found as a stray in South Carolina and later adopted by my friend Vinny. Every time I visited, I was drawn to her sweet, soulful energy and the bond they shared.

With two cats at home, a full travel schedule, and a full-time career, I knew I could not take on a dog, but I could still show up for the ones waiting. Now, every week, I pour my time and heart into walking, loving, and advocating for shelter dogs waiting to be adopted.

why it matters

Shelters are overflowing with healthy, loving animals from puppies to seniors, purebreds to lovable mixes, all waiting for a second chance.
  • In 2024, over 5 million dogs and cats entered U.S. shelters.
  • Every 90 seconds, one is euthanized due to overcrowding.
  • If just 6% more people adopted instead of bought, we could end euthanasia for space in this country.
The tragedy isn’t just that they’re there. The tragedy is that we keep buying while they keep dying, due to lack of space in shelters. I can’t adopt them all. But I can show up for them and use my voice for the ones still waiting. Raising awareness, educating others, and showing them love while they wait for their new homes is what I CAN do.

What you can do

You Don’t Have to Do Everything, Just Something
  • Adopt: Skip the breeder. Save a life.
  • Foster: Just one weekend can change a life.
  • Volunteer: Shelters always need extra hands, and heart.
  • Donate: Money, supplies, or social shares all help more than you think.
  • Speak Up: Share adoptable pets. Educate others. Challenge the culture of buying.
Every action matters, especially to the one waiting in a kennel for someone to choose them.

“We can’t save every one,  but we can show up for the ones still waiting. Together, our time, love, and voice make a difference.”
